This mural was made possible thanks to the ideas from community leaders of the people of Torola River at the invitation of Rogelio Ponseele, a Belgian priest that has lived in Morazán since the ’80s.
After several days of discussion, the community decided that the Mural will depict the old village, its agricultural heritage, traditions and customs. The main element to one side of the front would be the image of the pastor Monsignor Romero accompanied by the community.
The School of Art and Open Workshop of Perquín, is honored to have been invited to paint this beautiful mural together with young people and adults from the community.
Santiago Apostle is the patron of the warm people located in the mountains of northern Morazan.
